But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. (Romans 11:6 ESV)
Sometimes we might find ourselves in a position thinking that our actions or works determines the blessings of God for us. Which is a dangerous way of thinking because it makes one to base God’s blessings on works rather than Grace.
It is through the finished work of Christ we have access freely to the blessings of God by Grace. Our actions do not determine God’s blessings for us. Whatever that we have now from the father (God) is through the son – Jesus Christ.
The essence of Grace is receiving what we do not deserve from God but God in his infinite mercies decides to shower it upon us freely.
However, because our actions do not determine God’s blessings for us does not mean we should live anyhow because God rewards us for being faithful to Him and which also a blessing.
Our works cannot merit God’s blessings but these blessings are showered upon us freely by Grace.
