Blood Bought

By In

knowing that you  were ransomed from  the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,  but  with the precious blood of Christ, like that of  a lamb  without blemish or spot. (1 Peter 1:18, 19 ESV)

My message

Our futile ways wasn’t learnt but was inherited from our forefathers after the fall but through Christ we have been saved or ransomed from these futile ways. As believers, we now live a new life through Christ Jesus which is a life of His righteousness and holiness.

The price paid to save us from our  futile ways is imperishable. Silver, gold, animals or human beings cannot pay this ransom but the precious blood of Christ in Him there is no corruption of sin.

His blood bought saved us from sin and God’s wrath which we were once destined for.  This scripture also points out the worthiness or the eternal value of Christ blood shed on the cross for us and it shows God’s unconditional love for us because God did not owe us anything but we owed God for our trespasses against Him but yet He made His son Christ Jesus to pay for our trespasses and  reconcile us back to Him.

When I was mediating on 1 Peter 1:18-19, this scripture came into mind; He  restores my soul. He  leads me in  paths of righteousness for his  name’s sake. (Psalm 23:3 ESV)

God  created us in His image and likeness but this image was corrupted by sin but the uncorrupted or the unblemished blood of His Son that was offered as a ransom have restored our souls from our sinful ways to the path of righteousness by faith in Christ Jesus.

Brethren, nothing else can be compared to the ransom Christ paid for our sins and lets continue to diligently seek Him and dwell in Him. God bless!
