Love thy neighbour

Love thy neighbour

You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord . (Leviticus 19:18 ESV)

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22:37-40 ESV)
If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen. (1 John 4:20 ESV)

Scriptures makes it clear to us about the importance of love. All our actions flows through either love or hate.
As believers our actions should flow from the love we have for God and His people.
It is impossible to truly love God and hate mankind.
Anyone who claims to love God but hates His brother is living a life of deceit.
Human beings are not perfect, our actions sometimes leads to pain, hurt, betrayal and etc.
Though our neighbour may do all these things to us, we should let the love of God that dwells in us not to seek for vengeance or bear grudges against each other but rather love each other by overlooking such things.
Taking vengeance into our own hands or bearing grudges will not heal the pain or damage being caused by thy neighbour who offended you but loving them heals all it all.
God did not do no wrong to mankind but we sinned against Him however because He saw our imperfection and still loved us. He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins in order for us to be forgiven.
Love does not take into account wrongs being done but forgives those wrongs being done.
If we are to emulate Christ we need to look past each other’s wrong doing and love each other.
Brethren, being a child of God means that you have the traits of God and one of His traits is love.
We must love God and love His people.
It is not easy to love when being hurt or caused much pain by your neighbour. In times like these where our natural self wants us to hate – lets seek the help of God to love.
Brethren, let Go and let God. It is my prayer we will not take vengeance into our own hands and not bear grudges against our neighbour but rather love them in all circumstances.
“Do you know that nothing you do in this life will ever matter, unless it is about loving God and loving the people He has made”- Francis Chan
Love bears it all and love conquers it all!
