Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Today’s message is about how our passion shapes us, and leads us into doing the things we do.

Passion, I can say is a persistent, selfless, and powerful drive that gets us to act in one way or the other.

Beloved, the quest for pleasure is what drives all our actions and choices. Our passion basically shapes us and gets us into doing the things we do or involve ourselves in. As humans, we naturally want to chase after the things we are convinced will bring us pleasure. However, it is very important that we know that not all of our passions are good and beneficial. They may be either genuine or sinful.

As believers, we must seek to be passionate and active in our relationship with God. However, there are problems when this change and we begin to have a passion that is focused on our emotions and personal intentions rather than on God.

Beloved, our passion and desires should be centered on God. We need to come to the knowledge of truth and experience His Salvation and miraculous transformation by the Holy Spirit, so that our passion and desires are truly purposed. Our passion for God should also lead us to loving one another, being humble and being selfless in advancing God’s kingdom.

Our sinful passion and desires always get us to act in ways which are against the Word of God. We must make sure we do away with them. There are many dangers in pursuing a passion that has no focus or is self-centered. Our emotions and the way we feel can lead us to sin and as the Word of God says, the passion of the flesh leads us to sin and to do things contrary to the Word of God, but a passion for God, can compel us to achieve great things for the glory of God.

God’s grace abounds beloved. Christ died on the cross so that we will have a new life. We must walk in this new life by spending time with Him, and desiring to be more like Him.

Beloved, as we have heard this message today, I pray that God will help us do away with our sinful desires and pursue Him in all sincerity.

God Bless You!
