Spiritual defilement

By In

it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this defiles a person. For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.” (Matthew 15:11, 18-20 ESV)

Jesus in this scripture addresses the defilement of man. This defilement Jesus talks about is not physical defilement but spiritual defilement. A person is said to be spiritually defiled when his or her heart is unresponsive to the word of God. A trait of the spiritually defiled is disobedience.

The cause of spiritual defilement is what is being fed to the heart. What you fed on is what you bring forth. The spiritually defiled feeds on the evil desires of the world therefore making the heart to be defiled by such things.
A heart that is defiled, also defiles the spirit, soul and body. It starts on the inside and then manifest itself on the outside that is the evil fruits the spiritually defiled bears. Anyone that is spiritually defiled has no inheritance in God’s kingdom but rather thrown into the lake fire.

How can one be spiritual undefiled?

One is said to be spiritually undefiled when one’s heart is responsive to the word of God, allowing the Holy Spirit to regenerate them. The heart of the spiritually undefiled is circumcised by the Holy Spirit (Romans 2:29) therefore making it responsive to the word hence bearing spiritual fruits or fruit of the spirit. The spiritually undefiled have an inheritance in the kingdom of God.
Brethren, check the desires of your heart and the fruits you bear, are you spiritually undefiled or defiled?
May God give you and I the Grace to stay spiritually undefiled for Him. God bless you!
