I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:13-14 ESV)
Our lives on this earth will not always be sweet as honey and milk, there are times that we will face challenges. Even though our experiences of suffering may differ, we as believers should learn to see the goodness of God in our sufferings and not despise them.
In our sufferings we experience God’s goodness through hope. There is hope because we serve a God who never fails. Other people in the world have no hope in times of suffering because they do not have God to rely on or draw strength from in times like these. We serve a living God that gives us the Grace that strengthens us in times of affliction. His Grace is sufficient to see us through those sufferings (2 Corinthians 12:9 ). It is not by our might or power we make it through our struggles but by His Grace alone.
Never waste your suffering by despising it or questioning God, but rather embrace it and trust in the Lord to see you through. In all of our sufferings God uses it to draw us closer to Him and to mould and shape us to become what he wants us to be (Romans 5:2-5) – even though we might not see it at the time of our afflictions.
Brethren, never question God’s love for you, His plans for you or His existence because you are going through challenging times. Continue trusting the Lord and cling on to His promises even in the darkest days of your life. There is a light at the end of every tunnel, just as there is joy at the end of every suffering. “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14 ESV)”
