Word for Today

Where will you spend eternity?

By In

For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. (Hebrews 13:14 ESV)

I read this scripture during my quiet time this morning which I thought will be great to share with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.

Brethren, have you ever paused for a second and thought about where you will spend in eternity? There are only 2 places available where one can spend eternity which is heaven and hell.

How would heaven be like?

In heaven there is full of joy, no more pain and sufferings

And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:3, 4 NIV)

The New Testament describes hell as a place of unimaginable torment. Biblical writers help us picture scenes of unspeakable horror, and most of the time they’re merely quoting what Jesus said about hell:
weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matt. 8:12)

spiritual and bodily destruction (Mt. 10:28)

fiery furnaces (Matt. 13:42, 50)

outer darkness (Matt. 22:13)

unquenchable fires (Mark 9:48-49)

endless torments (Luke 16:23-24)

Where you faith is found and how and whom you live your life for will determine where you will spend eternity.

Only those whose faith is in Christ Jesus that live a life that is holy and pleasing unto God would spend eternity in heaven.

Any faith that is not in Christ and any life that is not lived according to God’s will or word will lead you to hell!

Brethren, there is hope for the living. Mercies are for those who are alive. Brethren, it is better to repent and believe in Christ Jesus before it is too late. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, we never know when Jesus Christ is coming or you will die.

My prayer for all believers is that, God will continue to gives us the Grace to grow in our faith in Him and also recognise that in all situations or circumstances we might face in life there is a home that awaits us where there is no more pain and sufferings. God bless you!
